Chunky platform sneakers have taken over my rotation this year, and Apollo Moda's Luiz X Midnight Majesty caught my eye with its all-black, oversized 1.5" elevated silhouette and metal toe detail.
These are a slip-on style, which I wasn't sure about at first for a chunky sneaker, but the elastic side panels held my foot secure without needing laces. The 1.5" platform sole gives a noticeable height boost without feeling unstable when walking.
I wore these for a full day of walking around the city and the cushioning held up better than I expected for a platform shoe — no arch fatigue by the end of the day. The all-black colorway with the metal toe cap makes them easy to dress up or down.
Pros: easy slip-on wear, comfortable all-day cushioning, distinctive oversized silhouette, versatile black colorway.
Cons: the chunky platform look isn't for everyone; sizing runs true but I'd still check the size chart given the platform sole.
