Big Bat Box Two-Chamber Black Bat House Review

As someone who's spent years encouraging natural pest control in my garden, I finally installed the Big Bat Box Two-Chamber Black Bat House last spring, and it's already paying off in fewer mosquitoes.

Solid Cedar Construction

This house is built from cedar, which naturally resists rot and weathering far better than the cheap pine boxes I'd tried before. The two-chamber design gives bats options for temperature regulation, and Big Bat Box rates it to hold up to 75 bats.

Certified Design

It's MTBC (Merlin Tuttle's Bat Conservation) certified, which mattered to me - not every bat box on the market is actually built to specs bats will use. Big Bat Box also donates 1% for the Planet, which was a nice bonus to see.

Pros

Pros: MTBC certified design, durable cedar construction, holds up to 75 bats, strong review count (707 reviews), affordable at $45.90.

Cons

Cons: Takes time (sometimes a full season or more) for bats to move in, mounting height/location matters for occupancy success.

If you want a real shot at attracting a bat colony for natural mosquito control, this is a well-built option. Check out the Two-Chamber Bat House here.
