Chromalux A21 100W Full Spectrum Incandescent Bulb Review: My Honest Take After Switching My Home Office Lighting

I spend a lot of hours at my desk, and I'd started noticing headaches and just general "blah" energy by mid-afternoon. A lighting designer friend suggested it might be my bulbs, so I picked up the Chromalux A21 100W Full Spectrum Incandescent Bulb from HealthLighting to test in my desk lamp.

First Impressions

The bulb has a distinctive purple-tinted glass, which threw me off at first, but once it's lit the light itself reads clean and neutral - much closer to natural daylight than the warm yellow glow of a standard incandescent.

How It Performs Day To Day

Colors on my desk (notebooks, plants, artwork) genuinely look more true-to-life under this bulb compared to my old soft-white bulbs. It's a standard A21 base so it dropped right into my existing lamp with no adapter needed.

Pros

Pros: full spectrum color rendering, easy standard-base swap, noticeably less "yellow cast" on my desk, affordable at $12.95.

Cons

Cons: incandescent bulbs run warmer and use more energy than LED alternatives, and the purple glass tint looks unusual before it's switched on.

If you're looking for an easy, budget-friendly way to bring more natural-feeling light into a reading nook or home office, this is worth trying. Grab yours here: Chromalux A21 100W Full Spectrum Bulb.
