GemJoy Starlight Bracelet Review: A Steel Charm Bracelet With a Free Augmented Reality App

I am always a little skeptical of jewelry that promises a tech gimmick on top, so I picked up GemJoy's Starlight Bracelet in Steel to see if the augmented reality angle actually adds anything.

Build and Look

The bracelet itself is a steel mesh band with a faceted gem charm, and it wears like a normal piece of everyday jewelry - no bulk, no obvious sign it does anything more than look good.

The AR Experience

Scanning the gem in GemJoy's free app unlocked a small library of animated experiences, including short story-driven scenes layered over your camera view. It is a fun novelty rather than a daily-use feature, more like a party trick to show people the first time you wear it.

Pros and Cons

Pros: genuinely wearable steel design, fun AR add-on included free, no recurring app fees.
Cons: the AR feature is a novelty you may only revisit occasionally, and $78 is mostly paying for the jewelry itself.

Final Verdict

As a steel bracelet alone it is solid and wearable, and the AR app is a genuinely nice bonus rather than a gimmick tax. Check GemJoy's Starlight Bracelet here.
