A yoga mat that actually folds small enough for a suitcase without cracking has been surprisingly hard to find, and Mikkoa's Travel Yoga Mat in the Space colorway ($149.00 AUD) finally solved that for me. It folds into a compact square rather than the usual bulky roll.
The foldable design genuinely fits into a daypack or the side pocket of a suitcase, which changed how consistently I could keep up a practice while traveling. It's noticeably lighter than my old standard mat too.
The sweat-absorbent microfibre surface over a natural rubber base gave me solid grip even through a hot, sweaty flow, and it held up well being machine washed after a few sessions on the road.
Pros: Genuinely compact fold, natural rubber grip holds up when sweaty, machine washable, vegan materials.
Cons: Thinner than a studio mat so less cushioning on hard floors, priced in AUD for international buyers.
