As a music teacher, I'm always looking for beginner instruments that are forgiving on a first-timer's budget without being frustrating to actually play. I tried the Pampet Music Colorful Plastic Trumpet with a couple of my newer students.
Valve action was smoother than I expected from a plastic-bodied trumpet at this price - no sticking, and intonation across the register was reasonably accurate for a beginner instrument, not a professional-grade horn.
It comes with a canvas carry bag and two mouthpieces (3C and 7C), which is a nice touch since mouthpiece fit varies a lot between beginner students. The lightweight plastic body is also much more forgiving with a young student's occasional drop than brass.
Tone is brighter and less warm than a brass trumpet, which is expected for the material, but perfectly usable for practice, school band tryouts, and building basic embouchure and technique.
Pros: smooth valve action, includes two mouthpieces and carry bag, lightweight and drop-resistant, budget-friendly for beginners.
Cons: tone is brighter/thinner than brass; not suited for advanced or performance-level players.
