Seek & Swoon's Portland Throw kept showing up on my radar with a perfect 5-star rating, so I finally added it to my own couch rotation to see if it deserved the hype.
It's made from recycled cotton with real substance to it — not the thin, scratchy feel you get from a lot of "sustainable" blankets — and it softened up even more after a few washes.
It's machine washable and dryable, which matters for a blanket that gets used daily, and the colorway works with a lot of different living room palettes.
Pros: sustainable recycled cotton, substantial weight and softness, machine washable, backed by a perfect review average.
Cons: premium price for a throw blanket, only one standard size offered.
