Gourmand fragrances can go cloying fast, so I was curious how Shay & Blue's White Orchid Espresso would balance its coffee note against something as delicate as orchid and magnolia.
Perfumer Julie Massé built this around the creaminess of a milky espresso, layering rich espresso and coconut against creamy white orchid and delicate magnolia, finished with smooth amber and woody undertones. In practice, it reads "steamy coffee shop" rather than dessert-sweet, which keeps it wearable rather than overwhelming.
It's classified as an all-gender clean fragrance, and the coffee note stays present without turning sharp or synthetic several hours into wear — a common failure point for coffee-forward scents.
The 0.3oz bottle was showing as sold out at the time of writing, but Shay & Blue regularly restocks, and their layering deal (3 fragrances for $65 or 5 for $95) is worth watching for if you want to build a rotation.
