Brazilians by culture are not avid candle burners. To meet her candle need and obsession, Bia would travel to the US and stock up on her favorites, which she would burn at home and gift to friends. So coveted these candles became, friends would only burn them on special occasions! Recognizing the hidden demand and Brazilians' desire for high quality, scented candles, Bia set out to make her own candles from home. Instinct and curiosity inspired her process and the flame & scent journey began... The goal was to create a luxury quality candle at accessible price. A candle with long-lasting, perfume-inspired scent that burns clean with no smoke. After extensive research, trial & error, and a few kitchen fires (!), the candlemaker mastered her craft. The result was a smoke-free formulation of fragrance, wax & wick that fully fills a space with aroma. In 2019, Bia moved back to her home state of Florida. Daunted by the candle competition of the US market, Bia tested her candles against the luxury brands she once purchased, and realized her candles had surpassed the competition. This gave confidence to break into the US market. The flame was lit, and Bia Candle Co. was born. "We hope our candles bring you happiness and calm through scent and light. If they brighten your day, our mission is accomplished." A superior candle involves premium ingredients and meticulous process. Our fragrance oils are safety-certified and created by master perfumers (who work with Dior!). Luxury fragrance is costly yet we double down. No cost cutting here. Our soy wax blend is nontoxic and clean burning. Our wicks are made of natural materials. All come together through a meticulous craftsmanship involving temperature control, time and intention. Inspired by a lifelong love of fragrance and driven by a pursuit excellence, she developed the exquisite combination of wax, wick, and scent found in our candles today. Bia works closely with perfumers to offer elevated, unique aromas to please our discerning candle customers, while prioritizing safety. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, reading, walks in nature, yoga, and series-bingeing with her dog, Duey.
