My name is Laura, the founder of Ohh Tea! I grew up drinking wildcrafted herbal teas and was introduced to medicinal herbs at a young age. It didn’t take long for me to realise just how powerful and beneficial tea could be. As I explored different types of tea, I quickly fell in love with its endless variety and potential. While studying business at university, I began noticing a gap in the market. Grocery store shelves were filled with uninspired, low-quality tea, and ordering better options from overseas came with high costs and long waits. I thought, If I’m struggling with this, surely others are too. That’s when the idea for Ohh Tea was born—a space where tea could truly shine. In 2022, during the COVID lockdown (because what else was I supposed to do?), I started a social media page to share tea recipes and tips. The platform quickly grew, and I realised people were excited to learn more about tea but often didn’t know where to start or how to turn it into a truly delicious drink. This inspired me to take Ohh Tea to the next level: creating an online store with a clear mission to address these gaps by offering (1) more variety, (2) higher-quality options, (3) a space for education, and (4) a supportive community of tea lovers. As for the name Ohh Tea , it was inspired by a bit of Gen Z flair. You’ve probably heard the phrase, “What’s the tea?”—a fun way of asking for the latest news or gossip.
