Hi! We're Duke & Todd...Brothers, Fathers, avid soccer fans, adventurers, and we are living our dream as we build Propello Life together. We strive to live healthy, sustainable lifestyles and wanted to create active nutrition products to meet the standards we hold our food to. In a confusing world of supplements with unnecessary ingredients, our products are simple, NON-GMO, free of artificial ingredients, minimally processed, authentic, sustainable and great tasting. "These experiences have taught us what we wanted to create – an inspired company focused on wellness, community, and its employees." We didn't know it at the time, but our passion for health started over 20 years ago. That is when our father bought our brothers and us a basic bench and weight set. In our basement, we took turns spotting each other. This was our first step on our journey that led us to where we are today. We didn't lift to look good - we lifted to become stronger athletes in soccer and volleyball; well…maybe we wanted to look good too! Sports have played a central theme in our lives. We were always surrounded by fitness and health, from playing travel soccer, to having a mother who tried her best to feed five growing boys as healthy and as much food as she could (even though, at the time, that meant adding a stick of butter to everything). Love you, Mom! We were also influenced by our grandmother who lived to be 92. She knew what healthy eating was before it was given a name by scientists and experts. She ate vegetables galore and grapefruit for breakfast every morning. Our passion for fitness continued through our 20’s and 30’s. Parts we did together and parts we did on our own as we learned, experienced, and grew. We experimented with everything from unhealthy eating to becoming vegetarian, and everything in between. We experimented with fad diets, and we continuously tried different workout routines and philosophies. If it is out there, we have tried it for at least 30 days! Duke even went vegetarian for 90 days. This taught him how to “really” eat vegetables and that he personally liked how his body feels eating meat. While this may not be for everyone, the point is that your health is a personal discovery. Listening to what makes your body feel its best is what is best for you. "We found a name that embodied what we have set out to do - inspire, educate, and fuel active lives." Following college, Duke’s career led him to sports nutrition and Todd’s led him to natural food operations and CrossFit. We have worked for Fortune 500 companies all the way to start-up companies fighting to make ends meet. We have worked for politically charged organizations where profits and corporate climbing where priority one to companies with amazing cultures with great work-life balance and social consciousness. These experiences have taught us what we wanted to create – an inspired company focused on wellness, community, and its employees. We took a long time to decide on the right name for Propello Life. We spent countless hours brainstorming, talking, writing on the marker board, searching for web domains, and finally landed on something that resonated with each one of us on the team. We found a name that embodied what we have set out to do - inspire, educate, and fuel active lives. Everyone is motivated by something; everyone has their own personal "WHY..." Maybe you are driven by your children, a personal circumstance, or even a goal you wish to achieve...there is a driving force behind what you do. In Latin, Propello means "motivated," so we chose the name Propello Life to stand for "motivated life." We chose the phrase, "LIVE FOR IT." because that is what you do on a daily basis; fueling your energy to act. It embodies your WHY, your motivation, and your purpose. Each step you take on your journey to wellness helps you achieve your goals. What are you LIVING for? What MOTIVATES you? To inspire, educate, and fuel active lives Our logo was inspired by the seed of life. It consists of seven concentric, overlapping circles, each representing one of our seven aspects of a healthy, whole life. There are six outer circles and one in the center. We believe that all seven of these aspects impact and influence, our lives and our health - yet the priority and weight of each is not set or stagnant; the circles fluctuate as our lives change, and the one landing in the middle is the aspect you are working on at that particular moment. For example, the birth of a child may bring Rejuvenation to the center with a need for sleep. A stressful job may bring Spirit to the middle, with the need for meditation. Training for a marathon may bring Fitness to the center. It is all a balance. We must be conscious of each and strive to do the best we can with each of them. Knowing that at different stages of our lives, and under changing circumstances, we may need to focus more on some and less on others. Understanding each of these seven aspects, and how they interact and impact your health, will empower you to make changes and adjust to your changing circumstances. "Our logo was inspired by the seed of life. Becoming professionals, finding time outside work to explore, and figuring out how to be healthy with busy schedules has been difficult - but worth it. Both of us also became husbands and fathers – and this changed our worlds in significant ways. We learned much from this – how to be a role model and instill healthy habits in our children, how to maintain health while the rest of life tries to pull you away from it (sickness, no sleep, stress, etc). We watched our wives become mothers and follow their own journey to wellness. We became faced with how to teach our children how to be healthy in a world that makes it difficult. We both have our own families, but the values we instill in them are very similar. What has emerged from the past two decades of discovery were some broad “concepts” of health – Movement, Nourishment, Passion, Rejuvenation, Love, Mind, and Spirit. "Our solutions are holistic and easy to implement into your life – one step at a time." Propello Life was built around these concepts and the idea that your health is a journey of discovery and improvement around these seven concepts; not just exercise and diet as most people believe. On this journey, you are the leader and Propello Life is your guide, your adviser, and your support. Propello Life is not suggesting a quick fix solution – these don’t work for 99% of people. We were founded to make a difference in the world of health. Our solutions are holistic and easy to implement into your life – one step at a time. Changes that build on each other and over time big, lasting changes occur. We have built our solutions around education and plans to help you pick and choose how your health journey is taken.
