True Lumens Cree-1000 Solar Motion Sensor Light Review: Bright, No Wiring Needed

Outdoor security lighting is one of those upgrades everyone means to get around to. The True Lumens Cree-1000 solar motion sensor light, built around a German Osram LED rated at 1000 lumens, promised a no-wiring install, so I mounted the 2-pack at my gate and driveway.

Installation

Setup really is just mounting and aiming, no electrician, no trenching for cable. Both units picked up solar charge fine on a partly cloudy roof angle, which isn't always a given with cheaper solar lights.

Performance at Night

The motion sensor triggers reliably and the 1000-lumen output is genuinely bright, enough to fully light a driveway approach rather than just a dim accent glow. Dusk-to-dawn ambient mode also works as a lower-power option between motion triggers.

Pros and Cons

What I liked: strong, genuinely bright output, reliable motion detection, straightforward no-wiring install.

Worth noting: like any solar light, performance depends on how much direct sun the panel gets, so mounting placement matters.

Final Verdict

The 2-pack is currently $89.99, down from $129.99. If you want brighter, easier outdoor security lighting, check the True Lumens Cree-1000 deal here.
